Anna Stabnick, BIRTH DOULA

DOULA,  Ann Arbor Doulas | info@annarbordoulas.com | (734) 800-1854

My name is Anna and I trained with DONA International in 2019. After training I began supporting birthing people in Southeast Michigan as a birth doula, and I immediately fell in love with the work. Since then, I have mostly provided care in volunteer capacities for people and families who are financially unable to access quality birth care and support, as well as having the beautiful opportunity to support families close to my own. I am looking forward to continuing this work in a more professional capacity with Ann Arbor Doulas!

I am currently completing a Master’s of Public Health at the University of Michigan where I am both learning and teaching current understandings of the social influences, political landscapes, and evidence basis shaping how we provide reproductive health care. I am also a co-founder of the Lunar Doula Collective, a new project, and now operating non-profit based in Ann Arbor, which provides volunteer bereavement support for all the times that pregnancies do not end in a birth, however they may be ending. When not doing birth work, I am an avid reader, writer, dancer, roller skater, labor organizer, sister, and friend.

It is an honor to be a part of your birth journey, and I look forward to celebrating it with you every step of the way!

I believe that every birth is special and unique, and I am committed to approaching each one as a learning opportunity: For the birthing person and families to learn more about themselves and just how powerful they can be, and for myself to learn how I can shape the knowledge and skills I have to fit varying needs, preferences, and priorities.

Let’s talk about ways I can support you!
