About Me
I am an original “Ann Arborite” and feel very fortunate that my husband and I are able to raise our family near the city that we love and grew up in.  Before having my children, I thought that I would take some time off and then continue studying and working towards a career in academia. I had no idea the countless ways becoming a mom would lead to so many new beginnings.

After welcoming my son Holden in 2003, and later daughter Bella in 2006, my focus shifted and I felt drawn to the empowerment of birth and wanted to contribute to the amazing transformation of a family. I began taking classes towards a nursing degree and have found door after door opening for me. I am now teaching Childbirth and Infant Care classes and am a certified American Red Cross Instructor and teach Infant CPR for the Lamaze Family Center Ann Arbor. I have truly found my path through working with new families and feel so honored to share in this special time.

As a Postpartum Doula, I am passionate about providing non-judgmental, practical and emotional support for families. I believe that it is equally important and valuable for a new mother to have guidance and information regarding feeding, diapering, and bathing as well as a friendly shoulder to lean on when she feels overwhelmed.

In our busy fast-paced lives many new mothers find they miss not only the hands-on help of the past but the informed perspective of a friend or relative who has been there. By mothering the mother and nurturing the new family as a whole, I work to create a sense of calm and to ease the transition into parenthood. My goal as a postpartum doula is to work myself out of a job by facilitating bonding and building a lasting sense of confidence within the new family.
